Renitidine side effects?

DS (4.5mth) has just had his dose put up to 0.7. His appetite has almost disappeared in that since 11 last night he has only had 2oz and is refusing now. Also his urine has started to smell really musty. Has anyone any experience of these side effects being from re uridine or could it be something like a urine infection etc?

Renitidine not re uridine

I had 2 with reflux.

They all have side effects, even gaviscon (which is useless for proper reflux).

Go back to the Doc and tell them it isn't agreeing with him (and ask about his urine, might not be conected(be strong about it) and you would like to try Omeprazole.

Omeprazole is the most expensive reflux drug therefore they will tend to try the cheaper stuff first.

Steer away from Domperidone, it's got too many side effects.

I think Rentidine could slightly hinder the absorbtion of calcium. Omeprazole could slightly hinder the absorbtion of iron.

This is slight and compared to the pain and damage reflux can cause I wouldn't worry.

He could have a UTI which can put them off food as they feel ill. Get him to rhe docs.

DS was on ranitidine and never had wee problems.

Def sounds like UTI.
