Tuition fees for oldies

Apologies if this has already been done but, Are tuition fees means tested for a mature student planning to go to university? My dh suggests not, but I presumed they would be, even if just to ensure that people didn't study for free for something that they had no intention of getting a job with thus not paying it back.

Not means tested no.

So I could in theory study for a degree and not have to pay it back?
