We have a 2.5 year old and 6 month old; the 2.5 year old has been in his bed (cotbed) for just under four weeks now. The issue we have is that every night (even when he is shattered), he takes forever to get settled. We have a stairgate on his door, but he doesn't like us shutting it and screams when we do. If left open he just gets up out of the bed, and it is then a game to get him back into bed. Tonight I had to sit on the landing until he drifted off - any ideas as to what to do?
When he is asleep the gate gets shut and he has no issue with that in the morning?
