What time do you dc's go to bed?

Mine seem to need a lot more sleep than other peoples.

Mine seems to need a lot less sleep than other people's :-(

DS (2.5) goes to bed about 7.15, if we're lucky he falls asleep by 8. He wakes up at 5-6am.

ceebeegeebies · 02/04/2011 22:05

DS1 (4.7) goes to bed at 8 and is usually asleep by 8.15 - wakes up between 6.30-7.

DS2 (2.5) is in bed and asleep (usually) by 7.30 and wakes up 6.30(ish).

I am also v Envy of parents whose children are in bed by 6.30 Hmm

CFAW · 02/04/2011 22:08

See i think that's good. Mine both go at 6 (4 yd and 9 month old) And get up between 7-8. If either go later than 6 all hell breaks loose. My 4 year old has been known to say "i am going to bed now!".

Ds 4 is at school so makes the 2 1/2 hours after school before bed really tight.

My ds 18 months goes to bed at 8.30. Usually sleeps til about 7.30am but he does still have 2 one hour naps during the day.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 03/04/2011 06:22

DD is nearly 10, lights out at 8 and up in the mornings at 7, on Friday night she took herself into the computer room and started trying to make some sort of April fool letter. I was downstaris drinking Wine.
Yesterday she was a nightmare despite not getting up until about 9. She really does need a lot of sleep or she is hell on earth.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 03/04/2011 10:13

DD is 14 months. Lights out at 19.30, she's usually asleep by 19.45 and will usually wake at any point between 06.00 and 07.00.

Plus two naps per day of about an hour and half an hour respectively.

Between 10.5 and 11 hours per night seems to be her optimum.

Envy at these long sleepers!

dikkertjedap · 03/04/2011 10:53

If dd (5) has to go to school next day then 19.00h (has to get up at 07.15h). If no school next day then 20.00h and in exceptional cases 20.30h but in both these situations she does get up after 08.00h (she likes lie-ins!).

pantaloons · 03/04/2011 10:55

Dancergirl · 03/04/2011 11:16

8 year old: ready for bed by 7.40ish, reads for a while, light out about 8.15
nearly 10 year old: ready for bed by 8ish, lights out by 9, usually falls asleep much later than this, struggles to get up for school Hmm....what can I do, she's just got a v late body clock.

abenstille · 04/04/2011 21:42

18 mth bed at 7 or 7.15pm awake at around 7.30am, sometimes 8am. Sleeps 2 hours at midday too. Im having it quite good at the mo, but she never once slept through until around 9 months. Still have to get up occassionally in the middle of the night to offer a quick hug.

nubbins · 05/04/2011 19:39

theghostofposhlymanor · 05/04/2011 20:19

DD is 3, she goes up to get ready for bed at 7ish, lights out at 8.

She's usually up between 7.30-8am.

Sirzy · 05/04/2011 20:23

17 month old DS goes to bed at 6.30 and sleeps until 7.30 ish.

mrsmusic · 05/04/2011 20:25

DD is 20 months and sleeps from about 7.30pm then up around 7ish. Sometimes she sleeps in the day, sometimes not - if she does it's up to an hour. She will not nap!!

Fourleaf · 05/04/2011 20:27

DS 17 months - bed by 7, up about 6.30. 1-2 hour nap in afternoon. Can't complain.

missmyoldname · 05/04/2011 20:28

DD (4) and DS(2) normally in bed just before 7pm and sleep for about 12 hours (lucky me!). DD sometimes needs to go to bed by about 6.30pm by Thursday/Friday as she is so tired from school. I get up for work at 6am, and the DCs often wake up when they hear me up and about.

inchoccyheaven · 05/04/2011 20:29

8 and 10 yr olds go to bed at 9pm school day and usually read until 10pm, and get up between 7 and 7.30am. On weekends go to bed anytime between 10 and 11.30pm and wake between 7.30 am ( 8 yr old) and 10am ( usually 10 yr old)
