Erm ... Are you a sitter or a stander?

DH and I got on to the topic of toilet training last night (rock and roll Saturday nights in our house ...) I became quite taken aback to discover that - tmi alert - DH stands up to wipe after a number 2! I am a sitter downer, and have taught DS that sitting down is the thing to do but DH thinks that is entirely wrong and now I'm all in a quandry. What's the norm people - stay sitting or stand up???

Ha! I had this discussion with a large group of friends, male and female, at Uni. The split was 50:50 with a slight increased prevalence of sitters in women. But, even more interesting, there are two subgroups of sitters - hand between the legs, and hand behind the back......

I was hand between the legs until I got cystitis aged 13. Then reverted to hand behind the back to wipe in the "correct" direction. But still, aged 36, find behind the back wiping harder....

Standing, but in the manner of a sumo wrestler, if that makes sense.

There was a huge thread about this recently, and what made me laugh was the total of people on both sides of the fence, sitters and standers all horrified at the idea of the alternative position.

People stand up to wipe??? Wtf?

But surely if you are a sitter, you are essentially putting your hand into the toilet when you wipe...bleugh.

Standers ahem stand up in such a way that the bum cheeks don't meet.

Why why why why would you stand????????

Ridiculous.

I honestly don't know if I sit or stand. Will check asap!
