moving into nursery

I have an 8 week old son who currently sleeps in a Moses basket in our room, only problem is ay night he wakes very easily due to noise, such as when my husband and I turn over in bed we have an old metal framed bed and when it creaks he wakes, starts frying and wants to be comforted if (just occasionally thank god) my husband let's out a loud snore, again the baby wakes and wants to be comforted.
The baby is overtired a lot in the day due to lack of sleep at night (luckily can now get him down for naps) and I am exhausted from constantly waking.
It's too early to try him in his nursery with a monitor though isn't it?

If you think both he and you will sleep better then why not try it? We moved DS in to his own room a little later - think he was about 16 weeks, but for the exact reason that we were disturbing him. I know the guidelines say 6 months - but if you have a monitor then why not try it. You can always move him back.

yeah its worth a go isnt it, and it may sound silly but have you tried tightening the bed frame, I was complaining for months with mine and after stinking the place out with wd40 and moaning about it. I found the bunch of alan/allen keys and hey presto squeak be gone!!

I had DS in his own room around 10 weeks.
He hated his moses basket and loved the big cot. I had an apnea alarm so had the extra reassurance of the little light flashing with his every breath and knowing the alarm would sound if anything went wrong. (Boots sell them for around £100)

He was breastfed. He difinitely woke much less when he was on his own.

With DD, she loved her moses basket so I had her next to me for 6 months. Nearing the 6 months she suddenly started waking loads more and DH demanded she was banished from our room Grin.

As soon as she went into her own room she went from 2 feeds in the night to 12 hour straight - not a peep.

If I have a third im putting them out in the shed!
