It is 10.30 in the morning here, I have to be at a meeting at 3pm and babysitter is no longer available so will have to take 13mth old ds with me. It is a smallish office which is not set up for little ppl but mostly safe iykwim. I need ideas to keep him entertained as I will need to be involved in meeting, it will be app. an hour long. So far I have some snaplock containers, 1 with large stones, 1 with keys and 1 with milk bottle tops, he can shake, sort empty and fill etc. Also taking favourite book and puzzle. Any other bright ideas....argh!!! TIA

bubbles are a great idea thanks, keep em coming, hope the other ppl in the meeting dont mind bubbles floating around though they have agreed to the presence of a 1yr old so they have to expect something for him I hope.

Put some dried pasta in a container to go with the keys etc

yowlingmonster · 26/10/2005 00:17

thanks all will try what I have already, bubbles, straws and pasta in a container and hopefully he will be charming and the stuffy oldies at the meeting will fall about in admiration at how well he is behaved! (ok so dreams are free but hopefully it wont be a complete disaster)

How did it go

yowlingmonster · 27/10/2005 06:37

He was incredible. When we arrived we had to wait around for some of the other adults to arrive and I gave him some of the snacks. When everyone was there and seated he literally sat just in front of me with his containers and had a ball tipping and sorting etc for the entire hour! We were able to have the meeting and he didnt interupt or anything. Once things were wrapping up I gave him a couple more snacks and spent the whole trip home telling him how utterly amazing he is.
