Hi there,
I have a lovely little boy and would like ideas for best toys or ways to play with him. I love using household things but also happy to buy things.
Thank you!

My DS (6 months) loves Sophie the Giraffe for general chomping, bashing and noise creation Grin

DD is this age and loves peekaboo, I throw a muslin on her head, say "where is DD?" whip it off and pull a surprised face saying "there she is!"

She also likes songs with actions (wind the bobbin, row the boat and head, shoulders knees and toes), flying above my head, and when I copy her expressions and noises. She like all attention and being chatted to or tickled.

In terms of toys, she likes her lamaze items (all of them, but particularly the cloth book) and anything lightweight and chewable (sophie mentioned above a good example).

Mirrors! Kids can start learning that they're individuals through seeing that when they move the reflection moves, so it's something that'll be fun for him and encourage development too.

Make a heuristic play treasure basket - just an extension of playing with household things really.
