For dd2 it is the theme tune to the Big Bang Theory. Dh and I are watching it so much during these long evenings spent feeding that as soon as the theme tune starts she stops and looks around for the laptop or tv.

For Dd1 it was the theme to the West Wing.

What's the theme tune to your dc's babyhood?Grin

There definitely comes a time when you realise that you really should stop watching sex and the city with your children around Grin

When my dd was a baby it was 'my lovely horse' off Father Ted!! Grin

Deliaskis · 21/03/2011 09:27

sings....'I could stay awake, just to hear you breathing...watch you smile when you are sleeping...' etc.

Sometimes with irony - wishing I didn't stay awake listening to hear her breathing!

DD is an only child. She was born in the ME to loving, but inexperienced parents. Her mother would often wake in the middle of the night to hear her daughter moaning. Mother would decided that her child needed feeding so would get her up, take her to the living room, turn the lights and telly on and make her a bottle. The child grew up watching either sky news or cricket. The mother got a book and found out about routines. The moans came to be recognised as just that, moans of a child settling.

DS (3.10) it's more recent as he sings it all the time and even changes his voice to do the woman then the man! Think I will always remember that.

Now bare with me as im rubbish and can't remember song titles and singers - it's the one that goes
"I don't care what the whisperer say's cos he whispers too loud for me".
then he does the deep voice - "pack up your troubles in an old kit bag..." - Really funny!

With DD it's My Girl. It played on the radio a few times when she was tiny and it made me sob!

matana · 21/03/2011 12:44

Don McClean's 'Wonderful baby'. I used to walk home from work on sunny days singing this when i was pregnant. Also the Carpenters' Close To You.

Roo83 · 21/03/2011 14:30

That's Eliza Doolittle quick chat...you can download it for him, sounds very funny! With ds it was 'In the night garden' theme tune as even as s baby he'd be mesmorised by this at 5am. Dd's is 'Don't stop, believing' the Glee version...it was playing when I had my cs and so I downloaded it to my phone and whenever she's screaming and I need to chill us both out I play it, get a lump in my throat, and suddenly don't mind her screaming so much!

SeaChelles · 21/03/2011 19:42

10 green sodding bottles!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/03/2011 19:48

Matana - yes I love "wonderful baby".

For me is would be "Dream a little dream" or "Sweet Child o' mine".

Corny I know Grin

LOL @ 10 green bottles!

Voddy · 21/03/2011 19:54

'Happy Feet', the Kermit The Frog song from that holiday advert? DD is 3 months old and I spent the first 2 months up all night with that advert playing in every sodding break Grin

bilblio · 21/03/2011 20:08

DD had several. News 24 beeps, theme tune to Sharpe (news and the history channel were my channels of choice through those first weeks). Theme to Deadwood, DH and I watched a couple of episodes every tea time, decided we'd watch them before DD could understand language or her first words may be interesting. :)

Once I went back to work and DH was it charge it was Heston Blumenthal's "In search of perfection" theme. We have a video of DD on her 1st birthday dancing exitedly to it, then when it finished pointing at the computer until we put it back on again.

I spent hours singing "Hush little baby" too. I would fall asleep first usually but even now if she's upset and I start singing it she'll shut up instantly.

Bumperlicioso · 21/03/2011 20:28

I love the News24 beeps Grin

Bloddy Banana Phone (youtube it), the boy LOVES it!

With the girl, I am not sure yet. Perhaps Adele's Somebody Like You as it's everywhere at the moment and she's just 4 months.
