I am so glad that we have an annual pass to our local zoo - it's great for big day trips out, a place to run off energy when I can't think what else to do and durable enough during rain or shine - in fact we spent a very wet afternoon there yesterday and along with the train and soft play we had a great time.

So what memberships / places do you thank your lucky stars for :)

I thought this was going to be essentials so I was ready with wine and Marlboro.
Our membership is the local swimming pool. I paid a small sum upfront and now we can go as a family for a euor a visit. DD would live in the water if she could.
She is nearly 10.

Our local park and local library - we went to both yesterday and had a fab day.

The woods 5mins from our door, they can run, hide, scream and shout as much as they like and thankfully its free!

We love our "woods" too - got a small cluster of trees across the road from us and when it all gets too much Grin especially on wet afternoons we grab our wellies and charge about in the trees or go on a bear hunt :)

Our Sky+ ... great for recording things we want to watch and educational/interesting programs for little one. In second place, Blockbuster membership. It's great being able to rent a new game to keep him occupied for an evening when I have an important deadline :)

Sirzy · 24/03/2011 16:56

Our local wwt centre which we are members off. Great to go and feed the ducks

Grabaspoon · 24/03/2011 20:36

kreecher I'm totally with you on your first thought, I was going so say wine.... but now I understand the thread I'll say the beach. Rockpools and sand are endlessly fun, but I really like the sound of a bearhunt in the woods too though, thanks for that grabaspoon :)

Grabaspoon · 24/03/2011 21:57

We just make it up as we go along - with the rough story/song/narrative going on - then DC2 chips in with other bits - sometimes I hide a toy bear when we arrive sometimes we just go on a bear hunt and imagine the bear Grin

Freeview hard drive gadget thingy, Octonauts and Rastamouse on series record Grin.

Lovely parks in our town with new play equipment.

Newly refurbished library.

The NCT nearly new sales. So much more bearable when they trash something that cost 50p, than even something at Primark prices.
