Don't worry, I know it's not interesting enough to chat about but thought I'd record progress here!

Day 1 today

1 wee next to toilet
1 wee on potty
1 poo & wee in pants
1 poo in bath

Not bad huh?

ooh is poo in bath good? because ds does that and he's only 8 months! lol

it sounds pretty good to me! next to toilet is virtually the same as on it and if it's a ds you have then it's just fine, isn;'t that what daddies do as well???

Gobbledispook · 24/10/2005 22:57

PMSL!! Aye - just copying Daddy!

I was just ecstatic that he actually did one on the potty - and i didn't force him - he said 'I'm going to do a wee', went all the way downstairs to the potty then came back up to tell me! So I'm just chuffed he clearly knows what's going on early enough to get there.

Next to toilet is all he'll be doing in 18 years' time anyway, GDG

Day 2

All 7 wees on the potty, unprompted (very proud mummy!)
1 poo on kitchen floor (oops!)

Quite chuffed really!

rofl
Always tell people the most salient feature of motherhood is how happy the little things make you.
Gdg,imagine if someone had told you 10 years ago that a poo on the kitchen floor would have you feeling 'quite chuffed really'.

That'll be me in a few months (oh and you again!!)

Gobbledispook · 25/10/2005 18:54

Ha ha! I know! I'm just so impressed he's gone to the potty every time without having to be prompted! He is almost 3 I suppose - potty trained ds1 at 2.9 as well and it only took him 3 days too. Definitely glad I've left it later - sooooo much easier than what all my friends have been through doing it at around 2.

Day 3

All wees on potty
1 poo on stairs

See a theme developing?!

Still, at least he's cracked the wee part - only took him 2 days!

Well done that boy!

My little one (still only 2.8) is still not 100% reliable despite me starting training in August. He has had a bit of a relapse lately. And the poos! Still more in his pants than in the potty! It annoys me because he goes into a quiet corner to do them, so he knows they are coming. Why not just go to the potty?

Anyway, I am sure your big boy will soon leave my little one behind. Great to get it done isn't it?

I'm going to show this thread to my 2.10 yr old. Pointed to his bum and said "Yes" when I asked if he wanted to sit on the loo (significant speech delay so he can't say unprompted). Sat on it for 2 seconds then wanted his potty instead. Sat on that for 2 seconds then lost interest. Did it 3 hours later in his pull-up.

Still it could have been in the swimming pool!

GDG - It def works best to leave them until they are ready doesn't it? Well done your ds anyway.

Day 4
All wees on potty
1 poo in pants

Day 5 (today)
All wees in potty
1 poo on toilet HURRAAAAAAAH!!

Dh is just taking them out and is well chuffed there is now little chance of a poo in the pants!

I am so amazed with ds2 - he's cracked it just as quick as ds1 did!
