Is this teething?!

Hello...I wonder if anyone can offer any insight. My 7 and a half month old doesn't have any teeth yet but it seems to me like he's had on and off teething symptoms for months! Some days he has very red cheeks and some pain, and lots of drooling, then it passes. However the latest thing is a week of completely disgusting poop! His poops have gone from being solid to sticky, yellowy, huge and in some cases, runny diarrhea. They really really smell. However, I can't feel any lumps on his gums or anything! His sleep has been a little disturbed in that he wakes around 4am for a bit of a chat to himself (and I think does a poo) then goes back to sleep until 7pm. So no screaming all night issues.
He is also constantly snotty but I have been putting that down to him starting nursery one day a week.

I would say yes and no. It all sounds like pretty good teething symptoms to me. They move around in their gums causing pain and disruption without popping out - nasty teeth!

However when poo turns yellow I think its a tummy bug. When the fats aren't digested properly???

sounds like teething. My dd has ruunt poo when teething, not sure if the cause is pain or the medicine though. It takes AGES for them to come through. Seriouly, my dd has been getting one through for 2 weeks now.
Also rubs her ear, puts her finger in her mouth and sort of hums with her lips closed. ouch, poor things
