I'm not sure if this is in the right section but I wasn't sure where to put it...

I'm just wondering where/how you all store photos and videos of your DC? I think I'm being a bit obsessive about it tbh but I have a massive fear of losing them all. They're mainly on my computer so I've backed them up onto CDs but I still feel they could be lost.
I've heard of flicker and photobucket where you store your photos online. Does anybody use them and are there any free ones where you can store hundreds of photos?
Thanks

on an external hard drive of the computer, and i do back up pretty much all of them to photobucket. its free but once you go over the limit of photos you need to pay a subscription, which i have now. the free space is quite a bit though and i am pretty happy with photobucket so to me its worth the money.

My brother (who trust me knows this stuff - gets sent to USA to fix their computing issues!) has just got me into "Dropbox" It works like having a usual file on your computer but it is effectively all stored on their company servers.

The benefits are:
a) You can access your files on anyone elses computer as long as you can access the internet and you can let individuals have access to any bits you want. So if you wan to share photos of kids etc there is no emailing involved!
b) If your pc, laptop, memory stick, hard drive, smart phone etc all go phut at the same time you haven't lost your files as with Dropbox they are all backed up!

You can have 2GB FREE but I am paying $9 a month for the 50GB as I store all my school planning and resources on it as well.

They have a nice explanatory cartoon on:
www.dropbox.com/
and a link to download.

Have a go! If I can make it work then a trained monkey could do ti!

I have some on the computer but they are mainly in photo albums! I do a bit of scrapbooking if I have time, otherwise I just get nice albums to put them in.

Don't people do this any more??

It's lovely sitting together on the sofa flicking through the albums. Just not the same on a computer screen imo.

Mine are on the PC and backed on on DH's home server. I also do online Albums of the best pics. This is also great and easy way of sharing recent pics with Family and friends.

I use Picasaweb and can store loads.
