Probably over-reacting .. poo in bath

I'm probably completely over-reacting, but here goes:

DS (21 months old) poos in bath, splashes away happily for a few secs til I notice. If any germs / bacteria from the poo got in his eyes or mouth between the poo and getting him out, could they that harm him? Not even sure if it did (as I said, I'm probably over-reacting!).

Thanks ..

well theoretically but I doubt it within a few minutes.

once when my ds (1) pooed in the bath I was alerted to it by my dd (3) leaping up and screaming in horror "A fish! A fish! There's a fish in the bath!"

lolol

I think he'll be ok. I've read stories on here from parents who have found their babies playing in their own poo (vomiting emoticon!) and they've been fine.

He'll be fine. All kids poo in the bath at some point! Anything is very much diluted in the bath.

No it won't do him any harm, if (in the unlikely event) that it did.
Your ds is not the first to poop in the bath and won't be the last

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 11/03/2011 19:16

He'll almost certainly be fine. I reckon everyone's done this at some point with no ill effects at all.

And it is HIS poo that came from HIS body with HIS germs in it, after all.

wow, that was quick, many thanks - after the recent dog poo / blindness stories, I'm convinced I've blinded him! Sorry if this is a bit hysterical, am 6 weeks pregnant with his younger brother / sister Smile

Sorry this sounds disgusting but when my ds was about 14 months and my daughter who was 2 and a bit was potty training, ds ATE dd's poo from the potty whilst I was washing up !!!!

I was histerical as the potty was EMPTY!!! not only did he eat it he ate it ALL!!!!!! He was looking quite smug until i grabbed the baby wipes and starting fishing it off his palate ( he then started crying !)

Frantically called dh who bloody laughed. Rang nhs direct who wanted to call back and rang doc who also laughed !!! He explained it would do him no harm, he might get a bit of a bad belly.

Its one to tell his future wife when he is older Grin

My advice, its fine and will do no harm.
