Surely if your children are at school, it makes sense for you to be working? I know you'll have to sort out afterschool care for a couple of hours, but that won't do them any harm whatsoever and gives them the clear message that both parents work hard for the good of the family.

I know how you feel. DD is 18mo and I've been working 3-4 days a week since she was 9mo. I'm about to go full time again (due to finances). It's not ideal, I love my one day a week with DD, even if it's mostly used to go to the supermarket and do washing!! However, needs must.

My cunning plan is to be super organised so washing/cleaning/shopping isn't left to the weekend and that we preserve that time for DD as much as we can. I'm going to do online shopping and utilise the washing machine timer.

I have 4 children and work full time. It took me a long time for the feelings of guilt to lessen. I had many a day when I sobbed all the way to work. I still get the pangs from time to time but it does get better - honestly!!
