Thinking about getting this for DD2 who will be 4 in October.

Can anyone tell me if it's worth the bother - good/bad reviews??

Thanks

Yes, ds and his friends seem to like them, but not necessarily as a reading aid. One friend's ds calls it his "computer" and likes to imitate his father hard at work on it. I've put ours away til ds is 4; I think he was a touch too young for it at 3.5. But he asks about it all the time--so, yes, I think it was a good purchase.

Oh, look what I found when searching the Product board for something else: this thread on LeapPads.

Yes, my daughter was given one when she was two and has always loved it, I think it might help as a reading aid once she has started reading properly at school, but has certainly helped her vocab in the meantime - especially the Richard Scary books you can get for it.

Thanks for the replies!

I was wondering where to post this - didn't realise there was a products board

DD2 does love her books, and likes to "make up" the storyline as she goes along, so I think she will enjoy something like this.
