Is this good for a 1st 'proper' day training

I've bitten the bullet today and decided that its time to potty train dd, so she's been in her pants all day and has managed to poo once in her potty (hurrah!) but that's been it for the day, she knows when she needs a wee, but so far hasn't made it to the potty in time....would just like to know if this is fairly normal for a 1st whole day attempt?

IME, the first day you don't usually get a single thing on the potty! I'll let you know next week when I start ds2! Did have a quick bash over the summer and in 3 days I got nowt on the potty! Ds1 cracked the whole shebang in 3 days so I was most disappointed (he did 1st day nothing on potty, 2nd day half on potty, 3rd day practically all on potty - it was a doddle! ds2 looks like a harder nut to crack!)

Sorry, didn't really answer your question! Yes, I think your dd did well to get a poo on the potty! They normally crack the wees first! All sounds normal!

Just showin off with your pooin child aren't you

We had a few days of no knickers at all, and puddles on the floor, then she worked out in time to reach the potty... but then she would always wee if you put her back in knickers... so we then had 2 days of wet knickers, and then she suddenly seemed to click.

A while of on/off accidents (mainly due to being engrossed in playing, and not remembering to wee), and then properly dry.

Still no luck with poo

I too decided that today was the day to start potty training my son. Bought some "big boy pants" - he had no trouble wearing them. Got a notepad to write down things (according to potty book I bought I needed to do this!) So far he has managed to do one wee in the potty but apart from that he has just gone in his pants, the last few times he has said "mummy potty" but has been too late.

Not sure if he is not yet ready? He is only 2 and a half.

sounds good to me! the rest of the day has been misses with wee, but the poo went in this am, so we're heading in the right direction! dd seems to be getting the hang of things, just not getting there in time....
