Crafts with a young toddler

DD has been getting into drawing (with biro, on the sofa ) so I have been trying to do crafty things with her. Has anyone any more suggestions on simple (not too messy) stuff to do? Thanks.

Tried:

Drawing - always a big hit
Painting - excellent
Finger painting - scares her
block printing - fun but messy
Play dough - ok for a few mins
Aquadoodle - loves but pen has broken
Those drawing pads where you add water and it colours in - quite fun but just wants to flood the page with water

She's 20 months - is that too young for sticking?

Mine loves sticking. Glue, Sellotape or especially stickers!

Mine love playing with all my fabric scraps from dress making..

they pile them up, run through them, stuff them in places...make beds!

ds is nearly 2 and has loved stickers from about 18 months. Be warned..they were all over the walls, tv, etc etc!!

she should be fine for sticking at that age, both with stickers or pritstick. she could do the liquid kinda glue with the stick too but much more messy so i would leave that for playgroups and use pritstick at home. just cut loads of pics out a magazine or catalogue and see if she wants to stick them on the page, or can use bits of shiny paper, pom poms etc
also what about glitter glue pens? i dont think that is too messy as long as they keep it on the paper and dont cover the house with it
& what about watercolour paint its less messy than normal ones and is quite different so seems like a different activity to them

This year we've made snow lanterns, handprint wreaths, bird food cakes, lots of cakes/flapjacks/etc, roads out of recycling, potato print cards, shaving foam marbling, night sky pictures, homemade playdough, saltdough decorations, wax crayon resists, leaf rubbings, and started our Easter eggs for the Easter tree all inspired by or directly copied from here!

Definitely pritstick rather than liquid glue.

Mothercare/ELC do little Mister maker kits for a few pounds each. They come with everything you need Inc a pritstick to make animals etc.

Elc also do a 'my first collage kit' for around £8. It's has lasted ages. It comes with glue, tissue paper, feathers, sparkly bits, googley eyes etc. Really good value for money.

My ds likes to collect empty egg boxes etc and we make them into boats to take in the bath.

We used to keep it really simple and outside. Something like glueing (pritt) leaves onto bits of cardboard. We gradually worked up to me cutting up the boden catalogue into shapes and the dc sticking the bits onto paper. Crayola felt tips do wash off, wax crayons are really hard to get off the walls.
