toddler and nappy bucket - help

Does anyone have any tips on how to keep my dd (14mo) out of the nappy bucket? She makes a beeline for it everytime she is in her bedroom and I don't want her playing with the nappies that are meant for the wash.

I can't keep it anywhere else (tiny house with too many radiators) and need to use it several times a day.

I think TotsBots do one with clips on it to make it hard to get into, I'll go have a look...

This is the one I was thinking of softbots.co.uk/products/Tots-Bots-Nappy-Bucket.html

Any good?

blackteaplease · 02/03/2011 15:53

That looks good but I don't know if I can justify buying a second bucket. Maybe I can fashion some clips to go on the bucket we have, will ask DH, he's quite creative.

I have that bucket and it is great! DS tries to get into it but can't Grin

TheProvincialLady · 02/03/2011 15:55

I keep mine just outside the back door. No one can mess with it and it never smells.

Cumbrianlass2 · 02/03/2011 16:45

I keep mine in the bath. Close to the loo and just out of DS's reach.

If no joy with anywhere else to store it, how about a hanging wet bag? Can get some good ones, and you could also use for holidays / travelling etc

MrsCurly · 02/03/2011 16:48

Bath here too

blackteaplease · 02/03/2011 19:52

Hmm, some good ideas here thanks. My friends have a wet bag but I prefer the bucket and mesh as you can put it straight in the wash.

Maybe I should just pay for a new bucket, would give me peace of mind as she gets older and plays independently.

i keep mine in the downstairs toilet and keep the door shut.

blackteaplease · 03/03/2011 08:33

I didn't even think of the downstairs loo. I change her on her cot top changer still in her bedroom and the nappy bin is tucked round the side of the cot so I'm used to popping it straight in the bin.

I suppose I'll just have to get used to a new routine, then it won't be a problem.

I've always kept them in the bathroom. We have a long counter in the bathroom and I keep them up there.
Never had a problem.

My mom used to use bungees to keep us out of the nappy bucket, but ours had handles on either side yoou could wrap the bungees around...

peachybums · 04/03/2011 21:56
