what age to take babies to 'parents and tots' groups?

I want to go to a parents and tots group as I would like to meet some other mums in my area, but my DD is only 7 weeks old and obviously can't really entertain herself. What sort of age ranges of children go to these things?

It's fine to take a 7 week old to them - in fact, this is a good age to start because you'll be able to speak to other mums without the inevitable interruptions of a toddler.

lots of very new mums at our toddler group

also have you checked your local Sure Start centre? ours has a "tummmies and tinies" group for pregnant women and those with babies under 6mo.

When I ran a parent and tot group we stated babies were welcome from 6 weeks to 5 years.
We only stated from 6 weeks as from experience non of us felt we would have been organised to take a newbie out for the morning and be dressed ourselvesGrin
We did after a while get a few babies as some mums were more organised then me.
