hi there guys!!

bit of a funny one...i change my ds nappy before putting him to bed and he had an erection (!!) and while his nappy was off he was trying to grab his winky frantically...i laughed it off and thought nothing more of it, put him up to bed and that was that...

BUT then he kept waking up (not like him) and everytime he was grabbing at his crotch area...the last time i went up i thought id check that there was nothing hurting him, took his nappy off and his winky was hard again...dont know if it had stayed like it from the nappy change before bed or if it just kept coming back...is this normal?

needless to say it is back to normal this morning...as a first time mum, and not being a boy either im not quite sure what to make of it all tbh!!

I'd see if it happens in such a persistant way again, and if it does, take him to the GP. Erections in infants are perfectly normal, but if it's waking him and bothering him, it might be worth checking out.

Could be that he's just discovering his bits. Wouldn't think anything of it TBH. DS grabs his nappy area sometimes and plays with his boys bits too. I just let him get on with it - he doesn't seem bothered!

If it was erect when you put the nappy on, it might have resulted in his will being in a slightly uncomfortable position. I would keep an eye on it. I was surprised with DS1 how early baby boys had erections and played with their willies. I was prepared when DS2's 4th word (after Mum, No and Cat) was willy Grin

I've been in a dilemma about exactly this - Is there a 'correct' way to tuck it in if it hasn't gone down by the time the fresh nappy goes on? Should you push it down (into the nappy)? It's where it needs to be to stop leakss but he doesn't like it. I've tried going the other way (towards his tummy) but it usually ends up with a leak 5 mins later.
