Does anyone else's 18 month old hardly nap during the day?

As the title says really! Our dd has always been a brilliant sleeper at night, goes to bed a dream. Never been one for napping much in the day - since a couple of months ago hasn't had a nap during the day in her cot. If we try to put her down in there, she screams blue murder, despite there being no problems whatsoever at bed time. She does nap in the car, and if we've been somewhere we'll often leave her in the car for a bit and she'll sleep up to about 45 minutes in there (on the drive, obviously checking her very very often!). I don't really expect her to be in a routine of going down in her cot during the day, as she has 3 days a week at childminders, 1 day a week with my sister (at our house) and one day a week with Nana, and she seems really happy (and we've just always been thankful she's slept so well on a night!).

Just had a really funny comment today from another Mum...

They are all different. Some need a nap during the day and some don't. Sounds like your DD is getting all the sleep she needs at night. I wouldn't worry about what other people say. DD stopped needing a nap at about the same age.

My toddler never naps unless in pushchair or seconds before we arrive at our destination in the car!! Bit of a shock because his brother was a good napper. In the unusual event he does nap I am concerned that he is ill..
