Help please: What do your DDs call their 'ladies' bits'?

Sorry if anyone has asked this before, but what is the accepted term for little girls (and their parents!) to use to refer to their...um...'fanny'? I find fanny a bit inappropriate really and have no idea what to refer to it as, having only had DS before. My parents are both rather prudish and so 'down there' was never mentioned when I was little!

Currently potty training DD and have been referring to it as her 'bottom' but, of course, she wipes her actual bottom when I say that, quite rightly. But not helpfully.

I could make up a name for it, of course, but it'd be easier if I called it the same as everyone else so that if she needs to refer to it at nursery or school etc, people know what she's on about.

3DD's, we use bottom and "girly bits", can't stand people giving it stupid names!

farming4 · 25/02/2011 23:02

Had the same problem in our house when dd1 was training - best we could come up with which did'nt make dh and me squirm was "front bum" - Smile

eden263 · 25/02/2011 23:07

Thanks

I call mine my front bottom, too, but have been laughed at by several partners in the past, so thought that was wrong. Confused

I asked a friend IRL with a DD about it when my DD was born & she said they call it her fluffy. I'm so not going there!

Willies are so much more straightforward!! Wink

My DD has two older brothers and keeps calling it her 'willy'. I tell her that it isn't a willy, but that upsets her.

Spandangle · 26/02/2011 08:47

fanny

we used to say front bum when she was younger (shes 5 now)

moodymama · 26/02/2011 09:12

Bits. Front bottom makes it sound like there might be poo there! Have also told her the correct word is vulva for outside and vagina for inside.

slipperandpjsmum · 26/02/2011 15:13

Afraid its Mary Moo with the little ones in our house!!! Can't even remember where it came from. Yes, yes I know its wrong but we like it!

GwendolineMaryLacey · 26/02/2011 15:49

I had this conversation in RL yesterday and it occurred to me that not only do we not refer to it as anything in particular with dd, I cannot remember any name for it when I was growing up. I suppose it all came under the umbrella term of bottom but I certainly never felt any confusion.

I cannot abide any of the twee, sickly names given though; minnie, flower, fairy, twinkle are all names I've heard on here.

I'll give it a bump then, since there are 2 of us on the trail! Wink

we call it foof...and I don't know why, and was determined not to have a sily name for it, but there we are...Grin I think my SIL may be responsible for the name actually!

paranoidmum · 26/02/2011 22:53

bottie - front, bottom - back. Worked for me, and my dd (7). Even ds has something to call it too!

CointreauVersial · 26/02/2011 22:56

I don't think we (dd1 age 9, dd2 age 7) call it anything!

Just a part of the general "bottom" region.

fancyschmancy · 26/02/2011 23:00

foo foo, or foo for short. Not sure where it came from, but seems to be fairly well understood amongst dd's friends. Not really for or against using the 'correct' terminology - it just happened. Suits us for now ( she's 4).

Frawli · 27/02/2011 00:17

You can go for foo, tuppence, bits. My mum used to call it pinky which made me cringe a bit, even then.

We will be going for foo or bits with DD I think. Fanny seems a bit crude.

podsquash · 27/02/2011 19:44

i quite like bajongo, from Scrubs, but don't have courage to actually call it that. Privates works for both ds and dd.

MmaIvvy · 27/02/2011 21:53

Fifi, (I have since realised this is also a tv character, but DD1 doesn't seem to notice! Plus it's not to embarassing when she uses the word in public!)

We call it her 'bits'. When I was little my mum called it my 'mick' or noon, no idea where that came from!

Portofino · 27/02/2011 21:57

binky. Though I have No idea where this came from. I wash dd's hair in the shower these days, then let her get on with it. My parting comment is alway - "make sure you give your binky a good scrub - it;s important to keep it clean" Blush

soupmaker · 28/02/2011 09:46

Bahookie. It's a scottish word for bum. Fine if you live in Scotland but maybe not so useful elsewhere.

eden263 · 28/02/2011 14:55

Ha, I saw this in my list of threads I'm on, wasn't paying attention properly & thought you called your DD's bits her 'soupmaker'!! Now that would be original! But very gross! Blush Grin

We say "my underneath". Grin
