Baby poos!

DS (7 wks) has not pooed today or yesterday. I know he did on Monday but can't remember about tuesday (so many nappy changes I lose track!) so that is at least two days with no poo! He is still weeing lots and has been farting like a 50cc moped for the last few days...

He is EBF and until now had pooed at least once a day. I thought BF babies were expected to poo daily but DP is not worried so should I be or not? How long should I leave it before I phone HV?

I had this with DS (now 20 weeks) - my HV said it was normal for them to go from daily (hourly it seemed...) movements to every couple of days. They tend to be quite spectacular when they do appear we've found...

haha yes DP (working away during week) said on phone tonight that he must just be saving it up. I said yes, waiting for his dad to come home to deal with it...

:) That's what I say to DH! And then I cross my fingers and hope that it's not me on change duty when the poo to end all poos appears!!

My ebf DS is exactly like this too! He used to poo loads each day, but is now down to 1 every day or two. And it's a poonami each time, and always in the afternoon when i'm at home alone little bugger :o

Yes, when they're building up for a growth spurt they seem to save it all up/ use it all. Don't worry, especially if he's still weeing lots!

Mine used to go once a week at one stage - which is apparently in the normal range.

I know someone who's baby went once a fortnight - anything from several times a day to once every several days is fine.
