Oh dear.... Got to meet with my supervisor this Friday to review my coding of my interviews but I haven't managed to do any of it! Today I am on kid duty all day and dh has announced he needs Thursday to finish his nvq work so I basically have a few hours tonight if I ignore everyone, same tomorrow and perhaps a few hours on Friday.... Is this enough time to properly thematically analyse two or three interviews and make sense of it?

Probably not to properly analyse (I have never coded interviews but I know others who talked about how long it took!). But I am sure if you just get as much done as possible that you will have enough to talk to your supervisor about, and they should be understanding anyway...is this for an UG dissertation due April time?

No my phd! Got a year left to finish transcribing and coding 30 interviews and write it all up! Time has just run away and my 15 month dd won't sleep through or nap properly!

Oh that will be fine then...you have ages. Although I can imagine how ages can quickly become not very long when doing a phd. A little every day I suppose is the way to go (must take own advice!).

Lol yes.... Procrastination is the enemy of the phd student.... Hopefully will have some initial codes for Friday buy dh has just come in and is in a mood that I didn't jump up to greet him and after saying hello I closed the study door so that the tv didn't disturb me but apparently that was rude! He was at the pub from 6-9:30pm...

And now he has declared he is sleeping on the sofa tonight! I sense that we may have a few more of these strops before the year is out!
