I had a book once that gave you the average amount of sleep a child at each age needs. As I can't find it, can you please tell me how much your child gets at:

4 years
7 years
9 yearss

ie their going to bed time and getting up time.

Thanks

4 year old goes to bed at 7pm, and sleeps until 6.30am - 7.30am approx.

7 year old goes to bed at 8pm, and sleeps until 6.30am on the dot every day, regardless of whether it is a weekend or holiday!

I have a 5 year old and a 7 year old.

5 year old goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 and is asleep between 7:30 and 8. Wakes somewhere between 7 and 8 but occasionally later.

7 year old goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00. Asleep between 8:30 and 9. Wakes up generally between 7 and 7:30 although occasionally later.

dd 7 - lights off 8pm, gets up around 7am (sometimes a little later)
dd 4 - lights off 7.30pm, gets up around 7am

DS 8 - up to bed 7.30 - 8 asleep any time between 9-10 - awake 7.30 most days - very rarely sleeps till 8.30

from googling it seems age 3-5 need an average of 11-13 hours per night and age 5-12 need an average 10-11 hours - about right for my 2 then.

Thanks all. I need to get my lot in bed about 1/2 hour earlier each I suspect. They are fine day to day, but I am sure they would benefit from a bit more sleep (which begs the question why I am on Mumsnet at 5.30pm and not starting my bedtime regimne!).
