Spanish playgroup in Sheffield

Hi,

I just wanted to let all Spanish-speaking parents in MN know there is a Spanish/latino playgroup in Sheffield on Saturdays 11:30-13:30.

It has been running for a couple of weeks only but it is very well organized. In the 2-hour session there is song-singing, storytelling and we all do some kind of craft, all of it in Spanish so obviously kids get lots of Spanish input. In the last half an hour the children and parents have lunch together, so again a good chance for the parents to catch up and for the kids to get more of the language. As well as the language input, the main thing for me is that children get to see they are not the only kids in the world living in dual-language families; i.e., they will hopefully feel it is "normal" to have two languages. More details here:

Hi Mosaica
Good luck with your group.

Can I suggest that you publish details of it in Link Magazine (Local free magazine/booklet for local parents). You can pick up a free copy from Highfield library, usually. I know there is a "grupo castellano" advertised there already. Are you connected or totally independent of each other?
