What do you do when DC are just wearing nappies overnight?

I'm just wondering what to do about washing them.

I didn't realise you could wash nappies with other items before but I just read that on here.
So, I could do a nappy and sheets wash midweek and a nappy and towels wash at the weekend, but that would still leave me with wet nappies hanging around for three or four days. Hmm.

What do other people do?

When DD had reusable nappies I just washed them in with other things. Washed them at 40 degrees and all was fine. I never had specific nappy washes - they just went ib with whatever was there.

I'm using bumgenius nappies; they say to use a teeny tiny amount of washing liquid compared to normal.
Maybe it doesn't really matter?

I would do a cold rinse first to get rid of any strong pee smell - a hot wash can set in the smell of wee. Then you could add in other stuff but definitely don't overload your nappies with detergent.
