What do you wash your nappies with?

Just wondering what detergent people use for their cloth nappies, and if you find the brand names better than own brand? We use mainly Bumgenius, with a few Ittis and Bamboozle stretchies. I was washing them with 1 own brand wash tablet, then switched to non bio gel, but I heard recently that gel isn't so good as it can clog your machine. I know some people use soap nuts, but I can't say I'm keen on the idea of those.

Thanks in advance.

I use the eco Aquados Simply range, is getting easier to get hold of now too. My local Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsnburys all stock it.

Not wonderful on tough stains, but found from experimenting with a few others that not much is other than sunshine!

Am sticking with the powder as find 1 tab is right for my nappies, tried the gel pouches and after a wash could still feel soap residue.

I did try using some of the mainstream gels for a while, but got build up and had to strip wash :(

I also stick a few drops if tea tree oil in with my pre-wash as a sanitiser, and a few more of a nicer smelling one (sweet orange, lavender etc) in the conditioner drawer so they have a nice whiff to them when they come out.
