Do you know people who actually wonder what you get up to when you are at home with the kids? I decided to write down what we did on last Thurs.

7.30 Wake up. DH makes toast for DS,I start to boil eggs for me, but DD wakes up so feed her. DS eats half of my over-boiled eggs, at least tea has cooled down enough to gulp it down at once. DS spills milk on carpet and kicks off when I ask him to have his breakfast by the table.

8.30 Change the nappy, wash the potty, shower. DD cries when DH leaves in hurry, he's late and no change for the bus. Try to put make-up on but DD cries so comfort her.

9.00 Tidying up. DS draws and watches Cbeebies.

9.30 DS wants cereals, DD takes a nap. Still tidying up.

9.45 DS still hungry, has a banana. Cleaning bathroom, take recycling out and clean DS's filthy boots.

10.00 Vacuuming. Brush DS's teeth, he kicks off when I switch off the TV. DS Starts to pull duvets and pillows on the floor (I just made the bed). DD is up, DS refuses to go to toilet, but uses potty instead. Clean the potty. DS wants to wear PJs and kicks off when I put his clothes on. Change DD's nappy.

10.30 Hang laundry on radiators, DS bumps his head while jumping on bed, comfort him.DS hangs his own clothes on his radiator and gives his favourite pyjamas a kiss. Feed DD.

10.45 Make cup of tea, go online. Check emails, do online banking, check newspaper headlines.

11.30 Turn PC off, DD is crying. Play with the kids few minutes. Start making lunch, yesterday's tuna pasta bake, broccoli&carrots. DS helps with lunch. Eat lunch, DD plays with finger food, then I feed her. DS refuses to use cutlery. Clean the table&highchair, wash the dishes, wash DS's hands, face, change his top. DH phones but can't hardly hear him, he talks to DS instead.

12.30 Getting ready to go out: change DD's nappy, clothes, get her dressed. Check changing bag, rinse the potty. DD cries in her buggy while I am getting changed and getting DS ready. DS has pulled sofa cushions on floor so I have kicked a path through them and his toys in living room.

12.50 Finally outside, go to park, then to a shop. DD runs to toy shelf, wants stuff, doesn't get them. He stops constantly to throw pine cones and sticks about.

14.50 Back home. Give some berries and biscuit to DS. Make cup of tea and turn PC on, but turn it off again to feed DD when she wakes up. DD jumps on my shoulders when I'm feeding DD.

15.30 Put the dishes & laundry away & wash more laundry. DD is in babywalker, DD jumps& climbs on the sofa cushions on the floor.

15.45 Sit down to read mail & newspaper. DS plays with plasticine, DD still in babywalker.

16.30 Film DD on camera. My mother phones, DS takes the camera and almost breaks it.

17.00 Cbeebies back on, tidy the toys away, hang the laundry up.

17.15 Start making dinner: chilli con carne, rice & salad. DD starts to cry, comfort her. DH phones while I'm feeding DD, he's on his way home.

17.45 DH is back home, I'll go for run.

18.15 Back home to eat dinner, DH goes for his run. Feed DD, help DS to go to toilet, finish feeding DD. DS eats rice but not chilli&salad, wants brown toast.

18.45 Bathe DD, while getting her dressed afterwards, DS brings the potty in the nursery and almost spills the poo on the floor.

19.00 DD falls asleep. Clean the potty, change the water for DS's bath. Do dishes, tidy up dining table and vacuum the carpet, which is covered in rice. Take rubbish&recycling out. Put PJ's on DS, brush his teeth. Read a story to DS.

20.00 DS falls asleep, DH gets home from his run. Watch some TV on iPlayer.

21.00 DD wakes up, feed her.

22.00 BEDTIME zzzzz

wow, OP mine is probably similar to yours, except with more Cbeebies and less healthy snacks Blush

My morning so far has been:

6.30 am DD1 (2.9) wakes us up shouting 'muuummmmyyyyy!' continuously... we ignore her for 20 mins.
6.50am DH cracks and goes to get DD1. She comes into our bed to read books with me while he makes tea. He very sweetly brings me a valentines card and some chocs - DD1 scoffs half the chocs before I can even blink!
7.00am DD2 (7 months) wakes up, I bring her into bed for morning BF and stories, we all laze about in bed reading books while DH gets dressed etc.
7.50am DH leaves for work, we go downstairs for breakfast - readybrek. Surprisingly DD1 isn't very hungry.
8.15am I leave girls watching Peppa Pig while I have a 2 minute shower, bathroom door and shower curtain open, straining to hear any signs of DD1 bashing DD2.
8.20am out of shower, check on girls then I get dressed
8.30am bath girls. Bribe DD1 with more valentines chocolate if she lets me brush her hair without a fuss.
9.00am get DD2 dressed, hang washing out in hallway while watching DD1 get dressed, while she refuses to let me help!
9.30am girls play and watch Cbeebies. DD1 demands more chocolate, finally persuade her to eat a banana. I tidy and do dishes.
10.00am out of the house for toddler music group. DD2 falls asleep in pushchair, DD1 goes on her scooter. We arrive late as usual. Afterwards dawdle home chatting to other mums.
12.00am get home. DD2 wakes up. DD1 watched Octonauts while I make lunch, DD2 sits in highchair and bashes stuff.
12.15 Lunch - cheese toastie and satsuma for DD1, mashed sweet potato and half a bagel for DD2. Coffee, half a bagel and leftover cheese toastie crusts for me, yum!
12.30 DD1 asks to play Red Dog, Blue Dog after lunch, unusual for her and very sweet, we play at the table while DD2 squishes bananas in her highchair.
13.00 DD1 naptime - peace at last! Make coffee, BF DD2 while on mumsnet Wink

I now have an hour to do the lunch dishes, do more washing and get dinner ready for later while still entertaining DD2! Then we're off to a friend's house for the afternoon, hopefully DD2 will sleep in the car. Best make more coffee and scoff the rest of those chocs while DD1 is sleeping...
