So this morning . . .

me: you looking forward to school?
dc(4): yeah (small pause) why do I always say that?
me: why do you always say what?
dc: that I'm looking forward to school
me: because you are?
dc: no, but you said "are you looking forward to school"
me: yeah
dc: well why?
me: why what?
dc: why do you say I'm looking forward to school?
me: I didn't you did
dc: but why do I say yes?
me: I don't know!!!! I ask you every day and you usually say yes, no one makes you say it!

By this point I start going mad!

Anyone else have these sort of conversations?

Haha, that did make me chuckle.

Ds1: Wiwi?
Me: yes that's your brothers willy (was changing his nappy)
Ds1: My wiwi?
Me: your willy is in your nappy.
Ds1: No my wiwi. (pointing to brothers willy)
Me: ok then. Your willy.
Ds1: NO MY WIWI
Me: ok
Ds1: fwowers carrrrrrr. (flowers car?) walks off tutting at me, trying to find his 'wiwi'

Oh and ds1 is 22months and before today never said anything other than mama and dada (and under duress) so I was quite surprised at him coming out with all these new words whilst trying to change ds2's nappy and figure out what exactly it was he wanted to do with the wiwi.

I didn't really know what to say. Confused

A recent conversation with my 10 year old DD while she sat and watched me get ready for a (rare) night out:

Me: There - do I look OK?

Her: Yes Mammy - you look lovely.

Me: Ah, thanks pet.

Her: But you'd look better if you had straight hair and a different face.....
Shock

Recent conversation with 14 year old DS1 about going to the Doctors.

Me: I'll make an appointment for you.

DS: No I can't be bothered with all the effort

Me: No, I'll make the appointment for you, all you have to do is go.

DS: Oh my god Mum, the effort of making an appointment, going to the doctors, getting some tablets, taking tablets. I can't believe YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE ME GO AGAINST EVERYTHING I BELIEVE IN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me: ......
