I just found a ds1's first party invite in his nursery bag!

At first I was all excited for him as he hasn't had an invite to any of his nursery pals birthdays yet (he is 3 btw). But then I realised I don't have a clue who the party boy actually is, although ds has talked about him before. I don't know what age he is turning either although I assume it's 4.

Then all these thoughts started entering my head, am I meant to just drop him off & leave him at the party, how many kids will be there, what amount to spend on present, what if all the other parents are pals & I don't know anyone? Yikes it feels like being back at school! I'm also feeling the pressure already that we will have to start doing parties for ds now, argh!

Anyone have answers for the above questions?

Ask at nursery how old the party boy will be. At age 3/4 most parents stay at the party in my experience.

I was really nervous taking dd to her first nursery party as I didn't know any of the parents but it was fine, I jut sat myself down and joined in the chat, now when she goes to parties it tends to be the same parents so much easier.

As for the present it depends on what you want to spend, I tend to buy books or activity stuff, if it's a child I don't know then usually about £7 - £8, but like I said it depends on your budget.
