Holding a birthday party on Sat for DD1 who will be 4, have 18 children attending between 2.5 and 4 years of age and need to entertain them for 2 hours!

Doing food at the table so maybe 25 mins, pass the parcel another 15 mins, pin the tale on the donkey for another 10 mins or so, any idea what I can do with them for the other hour and ten mins? Thought about musical chairs or statues but don't think the younger ones will get them?

I have a good one but it can slightly messy (although easy to hoover up!)

Divide children up into 2/3/4 teams. Get long pieces of string and several packets of hula hoops (crisps not plastic!) Thread hula hoops on to string. Recruit adult helpers to hold them up at head level of kds. Each team has to eat hula hoops as quick as poss with hand behind back.

Ducking for apples is healthier version!

Or doughnuts dangling from strings - eat with hands behind your back.

Treasure hunt round house can also work well, but needs an adult with each team at this age.

Oranges and Lemons?

Something crafty, eg decorating own party hats?

Making & decorating little baskets, then a treasure hunt (in the garden?) for caches of chocolate coins.

Will be watching this thread for ideas myself!

Ring games like Farmers in his Den went down well at DS' 4th birthday. They also loved What's th time Mr Wolf.
