I'm thinking of writing an article about 4 month sleep regression - any suggestions?

I was thinking of writing an article about the four month sleep regression for our local NCT newsletter, as it's mainly read by new parents or parents-to-be and not many people seem to know about it, so I thought it would be helpful.

However, now I've actually sat down to write the damn thing, I can't think what else to say other than: there's a four month sleep regression. It's hell. Get through it however you can. It ends.

I can't seem to find anything particularly helpful or "official" on the web (even Kellymom isn't great). Has anyone got any links that would be helpful or suggestions as to what I could say or things that helped? (Does anything help?! It's when we started co-sleeping full time, that's about the extent of my coping strategies.)

Any muses out there? :) I am completely devoid of inspiration!

Oh god, realised too late that it has no paragraph breaks - I'm so sorry Blush Blush

Looks good to me! Grin

I like the way you cover all the main points and then add individual experiences.

I especially like the 1/4 won't be sleeping more than 5 hours at a time at 3 months statistic - I'd not registered that one before but I'm sure it would help a lot of frustrated parents to know that!

Thanks, and thank you for battling through my bad formatting Blush Sorry I had to cut so much of your stuff out too, it was really interesting. And thanks again for the help :)

Looks really good, just what I would have like to read before my baby hit 4 months! Now he's 7 months and sleeping nicely with only one feed during my sleep period, I know I need to start reading up on the 9 month sleep regression...

Would you mind if I nick some of it? I've agreed to write something for our NCT magazine too, and I was thinking of doing it on sleep regressions (generally - not just 4 months). I wouldn't say I was particularly good at writing things. As you can tell, brevity is not my forte. Blush

Thanks Woodlands :) I didn't even know there was a 9 month regression until I read those links, so either it needs publicising even more than the 4 month one or it wasn't that bad ... though my DD still rarely sleeps through at 2 years Blush

Angel, go for it - I was thinking of uploading it to the newsletter editors' egroup for general sharing anyway :) plus you wrote half of it!

The spurts for the 9 month one are at 37 and 45 weeks, so it's kind of 8-11 months if you're unlucky (we were).

And then again at 13 months and 18 months. But our 13 month was barely noticeable. Grin

Thanks! :)
