things my 2.9 yo plays with a lot (and has done since age 2) : dressing up stuff, sticker books, craft set, jigsaws, tea set, ELC toy till, play food type stuff, this Melissa and Doug set is particularly good, ELC HappyLand sets, toy garage and cars, anything with Peppa Pig or Charlie and Lola on it... in fact 2 year old girls are very easy to buy for, just pop to the ELC or Argos!

These all sound great and link to ideas i had myself, but all seem to have 36 months + on them. The mother is v PFB and won;t give dd any gifts older than age on the box!! Makes it oh so difficult!!

Depends how much you want to spend-I have a 2yr old ds (almost 3 now) but I think boys and girls are into similar things at this age. For his 2nd birthday his favourite presents were a balance bike, scooter, sand/water table, pop up tent and tunnel (both argos), ELC art centre, play doh (not sure of age on this though). Hope you find something

Wood agree with Roo - if your budget stretches that far a pop up tent is always a good buy, have seen other peppa pig pop up items too, like a boat. ELC do some kitchen accessories suitable for 2 year olds, although the nicer wooden stuff does all seem to be for age 3. I would let my two year old play with them though! Atea set is always a good buy, especially in a little bag or case, cause taking it out and putting away is half the fun.

Oops a bit repetitive there, that'll be the wine then :)

2 year old girl:

  • baby doll - if she has one a cradle?
  • tea sets / play food / play pots/pans and dishes
  • dressing up clothes
  • scooter
