Horrendous video couldn't bring myself to watch it all!

Just saw this terrible video of a mormon mum 'disciplining' her adopted russian son on youtube. Couldn't get to the end of the film - my husband had to intervene and stop it I was so upset! Is it just me or is this not abuse? Regardless of what the child has done? Really hope this has been sorted! Hope I've got the link right although don't watch if you're easily upset!

I'm sure she's not representative of Mormonism (curious as to why the OP called her "a Mormon mum") and I really hope Dr Phil gave her a cold shower/ hot sauce/ every other horrible punishment that she metes out.

I also couldn't watch it all - I stopped at the shower bit. I don't know how the production company managed to stand by and film without intervening, they must have been wracked with guilt.

I do hope things change in that household; presumably that's why she's on the show? If not that poor child will be so screwed up.

I'd be surprised if a programme like that didn't give the woman a good sorting out. To use a cliche, she must've had a hideous childhood.

Tell your DH we're adults on MN and can decide for ourselves whether or not to watch but thanks for his concern! You gave good warnings about the content.
