Flip Organic inserts - how to fold??

Tried an organic insert for the first time the other day and it leaked because when I folded along the shorter dimensions (i.e. you fold it vertically and its longer, fold it horizontally and it's shorter) and it was still too long for the small setting, pushed the nappy away from the legs and out came the wee...

I assumed it was have nie obvious fold over ends like the stay dry inserts. But no. So ... do I fold it long then fold down one third? That seems on the short side.

What does everyon else do?

I folded it along the short sides, but never had the cover on the very smallest setting. Think we started off with the next poppers up and it seemed to work fine.

when my dd was little I used to fold it into 3rds then fold down the top like with the flips. We didn't have leaks I do find with the flips that you really have the pull the leg bit kind of up and round when you're fastening it to make sure it is not gappy at the legs. There is a bit of a knack to it but the inserts should be good. Are they also new which means they might not be too absorbant yet? the other things I do is sometimes put a square of microfibre or suedecloth on top to keep their botty away from the wet cotton. Someone here recommended those microfibre cleaning cloths and they seem to work.
