First nappy free day at nursery

Ds comes back with one pair of poo pants in a plastic bag.

Still in same pants, new undies.

Everything else looks the same (ie unused)

Now I have been going through 3 complete changes of clothing AT LEAST a day. I dread to think what condition the poor boy has been in.

Dh picked up and so didn't ask the right questions - or indeed any questions.

Surely if I send in 6 pairs of pants and undies you would expect more to be used in 5 hours. How on earth were his tracksuit pants fit to continue to wear?

when I had a potty training child I'd have generally taken them to the toilet to prevent the accidents the first few weeks. Probablem for at least 2 weeks. It takes less time and effort to prevent than to clean up....

I did ask them to take him every hour. He had a whole glass of water in the car on the way there, presuming that all came out with the poo, that's still another 4 hours he held it in for.

And he was still in the same trackpants.

Might it be possible that they took him to the loo / potty?

(or was he all wet when your husband arrived?)

No he was dry (socks were wet, but that could have been anything) but he was in the same trackpants, and we had a bag with wet pooed undies in. His trackpants would surely have been hit by the wee too, and they did smell.

I love the fact that dh picks him up, but I wish he'd been slightly pushy about asking it being the first day and all.

My DD is at nursery today for the first time in knickers. I rang them about 1pm & asked how she is getting on, They said she has had one accident & is now asleep in a nappy.Do you think they put your little one in a nappy ?

I will make sure DH finds out what has happened & see if our experience is similar to yours.

Mojomummy · 11/10/2005 22:58

well DD did very well at nursery, she had 5 hits & 3 misses including 1 poo miss & 1 poo hit. She had milk on the way home & had an accident looking for me I was still at work
But after her milk & story she got on the loo & did another wee.
Went to bed with a nappy AND insisted on having on the top

Home most of tomorrow, so see how it goes.

HellyBelly · 11/10/2005 23:06

Mojo - we have potty and toilet seat (softy) at mine so you'll be fine to stick with knickers at mine tomorrow

bobbybob · 13/10/2005 07:56

Okay today I told them my expectation was 1 accident, one complete change of bottom half, including socks if necessary.

Myself and dh both phoned once each to check how it was going. I got a huge bag of clothes - much more what I was expecting.

He did have some successes as well.

Hi Bobbybob, how was you DS yesterday ?

My DD had came back with 6 pairs of clean knickers & did a wee (in the loo) as soon as she got home. DH gave he a choc button as she held it in on the way home which she was thrilled with. One small poo in the pants, & that was the only miss

Going to nursery with tights on today....

I would describe him as toilet trained in the morning!

He does the first one in the toilet, and then loses the plot completely.
