My Mother has RR MS and was diagnosed some 15 years ago. She has physical symptoms but also mental issues. She can be very repetative and child like at times but she has a heart of gold. She works part time and is an independant, wonderful woman and a loving mother. My brother and SIL have recently had a baby and myself and DH are TTC#1.
My mum feels like my brother doesn't trust her with their DD and my brother has admitted that he would not let her look after DD alone.
I have spoken with my mum about TTC and she has asked begged that when/if myself and DH have a child that she will be allowed to look after it. She has told me how excited she is and has already though about where she can put a travel cot and activities she can do with the baby if she looks after him/her whilst i'm at work.
I'm so happy that mum seems excited as she doesn't often show emotions well. I have told her that of course she can look after our child but I have secretly spoken to my Dad and asked if he can be present when mum is babysitting. I now feel guilty that I have spoken to Dad in secret but I was just trying to spare any upset to mum.
I'm not sure what I want fromt his thread if i'm honest!!! I suppose I just wanted to vent!
Do you think it's ok for me to have spoken to dad in secret? Do you think i'm doing the right thing? I really want mum to be involved as I know she feels left out with brother and SIL's DD but I know she has problems with balance and I dont want to tire her out, it's not that I dont trust her but I worry about her and in turn would worry about my child.
