Dd 9 has been wearing a crop top on and off for about a year. Really just started with swollen nipples that got tender and the crop top helped. She was the teased at school so stopped wear then except at home.

Now dd looking a little podgy round the bust area and is worried about been teased about been fat. I sure it's boobs and not weight gain but when do you start with bras. Don't want to start her to early and her been teased for having a bra and no boobs. On the other hand want to encouage her to wear a bra when it becomes suitable.

If dd was to have bra (she'd like) it would be 30AA. Tiny are bras really just for show at that size.

I don't think she needs a bra yet. Why can't she just wear a crop top or vest for now? If she's teased for a crop top she'll be teased for a bra. Who's teasing her?

That's what I thought, but when does it come suitable. Personally happy to hold off for a while.

It's her peer group teasing at school when they change for pe/games. Added that to the fact that dd best friend is over weight and gets teased for having boobs because of her weight. I think that's why dd likes the idea of a bra so she can feel better about growing boobs and that's she's not fat just growing up.

OK, well as a mum of a 10 yo who hasn't any boobs yet I may not be best placed to advise Grin. If she would really prefer a bra I suppose you could take her to try a few on. She may not find them comfortable though. I'd also have a word with the teacher about this teasing which isn't on really. I didn't get a bra until I was about 14 yo btw and am still pretty small Blush.

Camisole type vest top under her uniform. DD wore a black one once which set a trend, I think in year 5. She didntbreally have much of a physical need just was self conscious. Then they all wore one, she also had a calvin klein vest top given her which she thought very exciting too and wore that Then maybe by the summer a bra will be more necessary?

Sometimes though with the breast buds developing, they can be very tender. DD liked the slightly padded bras because they were the softest and most gentle. They also cover up buds!
