Hello! Me, my DH and my 2.3 yr old DD are moving house in a couple of weeks. Anyone got any tips for helping to explain what's happening and to help her settle in? I'm expecting her behaviour to deteriorate as she's a real "routine" girl and doesn't like change too much. All ideas gratefully received! Ta!

Could you take her shopping for new curtains/bed spread in her room? Involve her in as much organising as possible, let her help you pack not-so-delicate things

Having jsut moved with a 3 year old I would say to inolve her as much as possible. Take her to see the house lots if you can, and maybe let her helpo you plan her bedroom. We had a sheet of paper where we put DD's ideas down on - torn out pieces of papers, scribbles of colour ideas, pictures from the net, etc. As she is younger you may have to guide this a bit though. And then go out and chose some things for her room.

And give her a box to pack some of her own things in and let her personalise that box. DD took pride in writing her name and drawing pictures on her boxes.
