Transition from cot to toddler bed

Hi. I would appreciate some advice regarding getting my DD (2.3) to use her new toddler bed. She still prefers to sleep in her cot which is in the same room as the bed. To lure her in we have put fairy bed linen on the bed in keeping with the fairy theme in her room, and ask her if she wants to sleep in her "fairy bed" tonight. She is happy to climb on it with her favourite teddies, but refuses to sleep in it. Do we just wait to see if she starts using it?

Cheers

Unless you desperately need the cot for another child I'd leave her to decide on her own. We had DS's cot in a room with a single bed and made it known to him that it was to be his one day...and left it up to him to decide when he wanted to....which he did when he was 3ish I think.

Much less hassle and traumatic for everyone Smile.

Thanks lunafire. I am expecting a second baby anytime now but we can manage for a month or two maybe longer with baby in a moses basket. We wanted to get her used to the bed before baby was born so she didn't feel the cot was whisked away for baby. Plus she's a stubborn little madam and will decide to use it when she's ready! :)
