arranging "playdates" <boak> when you don't know who the parents are?

dd1 has until recently been happily fobbed off with having my mates' dcs to play. she has just started asking if X or Y from nursery can come to play. i don't know any of the nursery parents, as i drop off and pick up at different times to them. would you think i was a weirdo if i gave your child a note with my details to arrange a playdate? would you want to be there yourself?

no wouldn't think it was strange and yes would want to be there esp if we didn't know each other. why not ask to go to local park or play centre first so it's not too intense?

oh good Grin. i thought most people would want to come too, to check that we are Naice People, and this is the bit that worries me most - the prospect of making small talk with a total stranger....at least we have something in common, i suppose....
