uh-oh dropped it!

DS is 2.1. From being about 13 months - 20 months he went through a throwing stage. He threw everything he could get his hands on. I knew it was just a phase, and he did grow out of it thank God. Now however, he has started again. But every time he throws something he looks at me all sweetness and light and says 'uh-oh dropped it!'. It's driving me mad. He throws really big toys that could really hurt him/me/the dog and I'm not sure how to nip it in the bud. I try saying 'No, you didn't drop it you threw it' in a stern voice, but he just laughs and says 'uh-oh dropped it' again! Any advice please?

why not suggest that he can pick it up. or remove big toys saying lying that it's broken becasue he dropped it?

take the toy away. If he is throwing toys that could hurt someone he shouldn't be allowed to have those toys.

Yes, I agree. Remove each and every thrown toy as 'broken'.
