VAT on fluff

I'm just buying some nappies and boosters etc and the checkout cart shows that the total comes to £30.98 and that VAT included in Total is £4.04.

Shouldn't nappies be VAT free?

I think so.

nappies are VAT free but accessories aren't.I bought some reusable wipes the other day and they showed up as having VAT added. Perhaps the boosters have VAT added?

Smac, thats interesting but the odd thing is that I went to another nappy site (I won't name and shame!) and put in the exact same items and that site said £0 VAT - very odd! I bought from the second place - not that it really makes a difference but it put me off the first site!!

Why not drop an email to the shop in question. It could be that a certain box wasn't ticked for some products, hence VAT appearing (usually VAT at the standard rate is applied as the default). If no-one says anything they may never notice - am sure they'd appreciate your help.
