3rd day in cloth and not going well- rash!

DS (9 months) has been in fuzzi's for most of the last 3 days. On the first day, I noticed a bit of a nappy rash so I put a disp on for 3 hrs and it seemed to go away. Today, his rash is awful. I have been rinsing the nappies in cold water before washing, then putting them on a 65 degree cycle using one Persil non-bio tablet. Is this right? I'm now thinking that one whole tablet may have been too much? Is there anything else I can do? I have ordered some liners so maybe this will improve things? Or I have some microfibre cloths, could I lay these on top of the fleece? Not really the point of a pocket nappy I know, but I have bought them now. I want to make it work as they look
so lovely and have cost a lot of money!

Thank you in advance for any ideas/ help

OK, it's years since I bought powder. Which one would you recommend?

I use washing liquid because it seems to leave less residue than powder. The other trick to avoiding nappy rash with Megan seems to be to change the nappy as soon as she poos - she can sit in a wet nappy for hours with no problems, but if I can't change her dirty nappy straight away for any reason, I can guarantee she'll get a rash.

hi paprika, I agree about lots of changes and also Fairy. My DS reacted to Persil non bio.

Thanks, I will get some Fairy instead. I would rather use liquid though.

Jennywren-how much liquid do you use? Agree about the pooey nappies. This morning DS must have been sitting in a dirty nappy for maybe half hour or more (I normally smell him straightaway and change him). Plus, he is refusing solids due to a throat infection so it was messy. Even so, he was still quite sore before this.
