cloth for newborn breastfed?

Hello

I used motherease one size successfully with DS1 and have all the nappies and wraps left. However I started with cloth later with him than I intend to with #2 and even then I found the one size to be really a bit too bulky on a young baby (can't remember when I started only that we were putting the nappies on the smallest size).

Should I just use muslins and small size wraps for the first few weeks? DS1 was 8lb 6oz so would imagine #2 will be of the same sort of size.

Any recommendations for good cloth nappies for first weeks/few months?

Thanks

Sandy's Extra Small Smile with a Tots Bots size 0 wrap.

I'd highly reccomend Little Lambs bamboo, size one, with the velcro taken off, and using nappy nippas to get a good secure fit.

DS3 has been in cloth from birth, and we're still using the LL's and nippas now and he'll be one on Weds.

I find cotton bottoms wraps very good - not so keen on the Little Lambs wraps tbh.

Motherease Sandy's XS. DS wore them for 10 weeks with XS Motherease wraps. Lovely and not at all bulky.

I bought some diddy diapers second hand and they were brilliant, was very sorry when they became too small!

I used the onelife ones (same as motherease i think) from 6 weeks no problem, are you folding the top bit down at the front to use the other set of poppers?

gingerwench · 11/01/2011 20:38

Yes I folded the top down so they fitted fine but I just felt I'd prefer something a little neater for early on

I used some teenyfits on DS which were lovely, otherwise I'd second the diddy diapers.

Bimbles are great, with motherease wraps. Very similar to little lambs but quicker drying as the inner bit pulls out. You need nippas with them.

Hattieboomboom · 11/01/2011 21:19

Oh no, I meant they are similar to diddy diapers, not Little Lambs, sorry.

frustratedfairy · 21/01/2011 13:48

I'm using some Bambino Mio which are fine, but I really really love the few Tots Bots Teenyfits I have they fit really well and are super cute but they are waaay expensive, bah!

I'm using motherease rikki small and keep everything in. Got some totbots size 0 and they are hit and miss with the wicking.
