Disapointed with Degree

I've just had an e-mail from the OU asking me if I want to accept my degree, I'm disapointed that it's a Third.
I had 240 points of credit transfer so only did 2 x 60 cedit modules one was a level 3 pass but the second (when I lost my Mum towards the end of the module) I only got a grade 4 pass.
Was I stupid to have hoped for a 2:2?

could you do another course and count that towards it rather than the one you got a grade 4?

Yes I could but I was so excited at finishing and am too late for a January start now.

Can you apply for extenuating circumstances for any assessment at the end of the module?

I'd redo the module, if you can, or take a different course to get the grade closer to a 2:2 or 2:1. That's if you need to compete for jobs in the normal way and don't already have a job (or one lined up). I lost my mom a while back so I feel for you, very hard. I ended up redoing a complete year as I failed some modules and only bearly passed others. It was worth the hassle and frustration as with the poorer grades I wouldn't be where I am today. Hope you have better fortune in the time to come.
