Would you buy a new pram for a 21 month old?

Ok, here is the background.

Alf is a taaaaallll boy, 21 months and in size 3-4 clotes in many places, tp give you an idea.

I hve a bad back so need an easy light pram, and have a petite star in my car. He is very opinionated, and doesnt have the best of speech skills yet, which means I only tend to risk small walks/journys without the parm as 9 times out of 10 WW3 breaks out because he wants to wim with the ducks in teh freezing cold, or wants to walk in the middle of the carpark, or wants to lick the bins - genrally always things that I have to say 'no' over.

Anyway, MIL has him the days I work and has an even worse back then me. She has a Quick Smart pram for him in her car, but he is literally at the point where the straps are hurting him so his can no longer be used.

So, my options are:

1 - Start to drag my pram in and out of car whilsr rushing round for work and hings in the morning. I am frgetful and MIL would be pretty stuffed without pram due to said control issues mentioned above!

2 - buy a new pram. I have seen the City Jogger, played with it and think its bloody fantastic for easy of use and my back. I am also very tall and its a good hight for me comfort wise. Plan would be for me to have this and MIL have the Petite star as its a bit lighter for her.

You can tell from the way I type I prefre option 2! However - the pram is £190. Owch. Can I really justify that? I think we will be using a pram for a while yet - I have no itnetion of being pram happy till he is 4 but I think I will need one for a bit - I'm just not sure how long?

What do people think? Daft waste of money or not?

Thanks for the help.

Could you not try and get the buggy you want cheaper off ebay or one similar? I bought mine when my little boy (also huuuge!) grew out of ours when he was nearly 2. Got a gorgeous one off ebay and it was like new.

I would get the pram. (From Boots maybe so you can get points)

My 21 month old is a confident walker now but still naps after lunch and if we go on whole day trips the pram is certainly a necessity.

Plus it can't be easy having back problems and having to run around after a toddler so anything to make your lives a little easier.
