Is anyone familiar with a recording called "Everyone's Free to Wear Sunscreen" by Baz Lurhhman, which is basically advice for life for the young. I heard it recently and while I don't think it's a great recording, I like the premise. It made me think about advice I will make sure I give to my daughter,if I haven't already.

What life lessons, minor and major, do you want to communicate to your children? I'll begin ....

  • Always make a mental note of where the emergency exits are.
  • Never buy a hot dog from an unlicensed street vendor
  • Always wear properly fitting shoes so that your feet stay beautiful (and not misshapen, like mine).

Similar to the shoes thing, I would add that bras should always be properly fitted.

My other one would be that Knowledge is great, and not to be ashamed of being a bit geeky.

Love yourself. The longest relationship you will have is with yourself, make it a good one.

Don't look to others to fulfil you.

Forgive yourself quickly for your mistakes and take responsibility for your actions.

Don't have children til your fully cooked and only if you want them

Don't diet, love your body enough to listen to it.
